Dr Coppack Retirement News – 31st January 2024
Retirement News
I’m sure everyone joins us in wishing Dr Coppack a long and happy retirement. His hours are being replaced by GPs and an update regarding this will follow shortly.
Message from Dr Coppack
It is with very mixed emotions that I wish to announce my retirement from the Pickering Medical Practice, [and general practice], on 31st January.
This date has been chosen because I started here on 1st February 1994, and so I will have been in post exactly 30 years, to the day. In addition, the 31st of January 2024, is just 2 days after my 65th birthday, so the timing feels right.
It has been a privilege and an honour.
In the course of these 30 years, I have been fortunate to meet and treat many admirable characters-the kind, the brave, the stoical and the humorous. I have observed them all with nothing but admiration.
I have also been very lucky to work alongside many likeminded colleagues, who have striven hard to help the people they serve. Especially in these difficult times for the NHS, I would ask that you treat them in a polite and fair manner, to enable them to help you as best they can.
I wish you all the very best for the future and am grateful for the kind words and good wishes that I have already received on the announcement of my retirement. I look forward to still seeing many of you around town.
Kind regards,
Dr Jim Coppack
